Senior Building Engineer - Commercial Facilities - Base Salary to 85k/year - Nashville, TN

  • Our client is supporting a large-scale commercial property in the Nashville area and is building out a facilities engineering team. This is a hands-on Senior Building Engineer role supporting a complex building environment. This position works on first shift and partners with engineering leadership to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of building systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot building systems, including:
    • Central HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAV systems)
    • Electrical distribution systems (switchgear, panels)
    • Plumbing and hydronic systems
    • Fire and life safety systems
    • Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS)
  • Support ongoing operation of building infrastructure
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours system support as required
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues
  • Analyze BAS/BMS data, alarms, and trends to identify system issues
  • Identify recurring equipment or system problems and implement corrective actions
  • Perform and support preventive maintenance programs using CMMS systems
  • Identify early indicators of equipment failure
  • Document maintenance activities and system conditions
  • Utilize building systems and platforms, including BAS/BMS systems, CMMS platforms, Energy management and metering systems

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in commercial building engineering, facilities engineering, or building maintenance
  • Hands-on experience with central HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAV systems)
  • Experience with electrical distribution systems (switchgear, panels)
  • Experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS)
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
  • Experience using CMMS platforms for maintenance tracking and work orders
  • Experience working in commercial facilities such as office buildings, healthcare facilities, data centers, or similar large-scale environments
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation and support after-hours building needs

Compensation:

  • Base salary to 85k/year
  • Annual bonus
