The position: We’re looking for a Senior Budget Analyst to join our team! This role is perfect for someone with experience handling complex financial analysis, making program decisions, and preparing budgets for a wide range of functional areas
The Location: 101 Elliot Ave W, Seattle WA 98119
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in such fields as Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Public Administration, or related field
- Six years of work experience in public sector budgeting, finance, accounting, or related experience
- Relevant Master's degree and/or CPA license with independent audit experience preferred, but not required
What will you do?
- Provide technical expertise and independent technical knowledge in accounting, auditing and forecasting practices and terminology applicable to public and private sector accounting
- Prepare financial forecasts for SHA funds and departments using financial forecasting methodology
- Perform varied and complex accounting and budget analyses requiring independent judgment
- Analyze multi-million dollar budget requests, including analysis of program plans, organizational changes and legislative impacts
- Write clear and concise reports explaining financial matters and budget issues to non-financial personnel
- Recognize and identify policy and program issues and financial issues
- Review, investigate, and explain budget variances to department directors
