Senior Broadcast Systems EngineerLondonFreelancer / Fixed Term ContractJoin Al Jazeera Media Network’s London operations and play a critical role in delivering high-quality, live broadcast output.As a Senior Broadcast Systems  Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that on-air programmes and engineering services are delivered seamlessly, on time, and to the highest technical standards. Working within a fast-paced, live broadcast environment, you will support and maintain the systems that power our global news output.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure all on-air programming and engineering services are delivered on schedule and at the highest level of quality
• Monitor and maintain the stability and performance of broadcast and broadcast IT systems, resolving issues proactively
• Install, maintain, upgrade, and repair broadcast equipment, systems, and infrastructure
• Work closely with technical teams to ensure uninterrupted transmission and smooth daily operations
• Execute planned maintenance activities and manage downtime requirements across the broadcast environment
• Update and maintain system documentation and technical diagrams
• Support technical projects, including materials requisition and reviewing vendor proposals
• Respond to faults, incidents, and service requests via the AJMN Service Desk, ensuring resolution within agreed SLAs
• Provide hands-on technical support across all broadcast and broadcast IT areas

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 4+ years’ experience in broadcast engineering within a live broadcast environment
• Indepth technical expertise across broadcast systems and broadcast IT infrastructure
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues under pressure
• Experience working in fast-paced, 24/7 news or live production environments
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within technical teams
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality output
