We're looking for an exceptional Senior Brand Designer to join our creative team on a temporary maternity cover contract.

This is a hands-on creative role for someone with outstanding visual instincts, meticulous attention to detail and a genuine passion for making beautiful, thoughtful work.

We're looking for a maker. Someone who cares deeply about craft, has a highly developed aesthetic sensibility and can take an idea from initial concept through to an exceptionally polished final execution.

The Role

You'll work across a broad range of creative projects, helping shape how Blockchain.com looks, feels and communicates across digital and physical touchpoints.

From our app and website to campaigns, brand collateral and digital assets, you'll bring a consistent level of visual quality and sophistication to everything you create.

We have a particular appreciation for design that feels modern, confident, considered and premium. Work that communicates more with less. Strong typography, beautiful photography, thoughtful composition, restrained use of colour and an obsessive attention to the smallest details.

This isn't a role about managing people or setting creative direction from a distance. It's about being close to the work, bringing strong creative ideas to the table and producing exceptional design.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Create exceptional visual work. Design and execute high-quality creative assets across brand, marketing, digital products, web, social, presentations and other brand touchpoints.
• Elevate our digital experiences. Collaborate on the visual design and user experience of the Blockchain.com app and website, bringing a strong brand perspective to product interfaces and digital journeys.
• Bring a photographic eye. Use photography, image selection, art direction, cropping, composition and retouching to create compelling, sophisticated visual experiences.
• Make simplicity powerful. Create designs that feel refined and intentional, with an understanding of negative space, visual hierarchy, restraint and the power of a limited colour palette.
• Make typography matter. Bring an exceptional understanding of typography, from type selection and hierarchy to spacing, proportion and the finer details of execution.
• Develop beautiful 2D creative assets. Produce digital graphics, campaign assets and visual compositions, with the ability to incorporate subtle animation or motion where it adds value.
• Maintain an exceptional standard of craft. Sweat the details, challenge average execution and ensure everything that goes out feels considered and beautifully finished.
• Collaborate across disciplines. Work closely with designers, marketers, product teams and other stakeholders to turn briefs into visually compelling, effective creative work.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• A strong portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual taste and execution, not just a collection of completed projects.
• Significant experience in brand design, visual design or art direction, with the ability to work confidently at a senior level.
• A sophisticated, contemporary design sensibility, ideally with experience creating work for premium, luxury, editorial, lifestyle or technology brands.
• An excellent eye for photography, composition, lighting, imagery and visual storytelling.
• Deep expertise in typography, layout, hierarchy, colour and visual balance.
• A natural instinct for simplicity and restraint. You know when to take something away rather than add something more.
• Strong proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• Experience creating digital assets and designing for websites, apps and responsive environments.
• Motion design or animation skills are a welcome bonus, particularly subtle, elegant animation of 2D assets.
• An extremely high level of attention to detail, combined with the ability to work efficiently across multiple projects.
• A proactive, self-directed approach. You take ownership, move things forward and don't need extensive direction to produce outstanding work.
• A collaborative, low-ego mindset and a genuine enthusiasm for creating great work alongside other talented people.

You have strong opinions about design, but you don't have an ego about them.

You notice things other people miss. The slightly wrong crop. The inconsistent spacing. The typography that almost works but isn't quite right.

You understand the difference between something that looks good and something that feels exceptional.

You're equally comfortable starting with a blank canvas, refining an existing concept or elevating a piece of work through a series of small, thoughtful decisions.

Above all, you have exceptional taste, and the technical ability to turn that taste into beautiful, finished work.
