Job Description


Experienced
Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant

with high attention to detail and analytical mindset required to join our client
in the property and investment services sector.
This is a permanent position working
with flexible working hours, 8am to 2pm.

The successful candidate will
bring over a decade of accounting experience—ideally from a practice
background—and possess a deep understanding of SARS compliance and modern
cloud-based accounting ecosystems.


Key
Responsibilities


Financial
Management & Accounting


  • Manage the complete bookkeeping process
    through to Trial Balance, primarily utilizing Sage or Xero.

  • Accurately prepare and submit monthly
    Management Accounts.

  • Oversee month-end reconciliations, payroll
    journals, and VAT return processing.

  • Maintain precise accounting and tax records in
    accordance with industry best practices.


Payroll
& Tax Compliance


  • Reconcile and submit all EMP201 and EMP501
    returns.

  • Manage UIF, PAYE, and SDL submissions,
    ensuring accurate IRP5 generation and year-end compliance.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for SARS,
    independently resolving queries, audits, and disputes related to VAT and
    payroll.


Requirements


  • A minimum of 10+ years
    in a dedicated Senior Bookkeeping / Accounting role.

  • Related tertiary qualification
    and advantage

  • Advanced proficiency in
    SARS eFiling, VAT, and PAYE submissions (Income Tax experience is a plus).

  • Strong command of Excel
    and cloud-based platforms like Sage.

  • Proven ability to
    manage complex SARS audits and compliance matters independently with
    minimal supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal
    and communication skills, with a proactive, tech-savvy, and
    solutions-oriented mindset.
