Job Title: Senior Bookkeeper

Contractor Fee: $1,200-$1,500/month

Work Arrangement: Remote

About This Role:

We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to support one of our growing clients with day-to-day financial operations. This role is ideal for someone experienced in revenue and expense reconciliation, AP/AR management, month-end closings, and profitability tracking. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate records, optimizing accounting workflows, and driving process improvements through automation. A detail-oriented, proactive mindset with a solid grasp of US GAAP and remote collaboration is key.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records across accounting systems

• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes

• Reconcile revenue, expenses, and sales tax liabilities

• Perform soft closes within 810 days and finalize solid closes within 15 days

• Investigate and explain budget variances and cost discrepancies

• Drive process improvement and automation within bookkeeping operations

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and local accounting standards

• Collaborate with operations, finance, and leadership teams for cost tracking and strategy

• Manage project and task tracking in tools like Asana or equivalent

Software/Platforms/Tools:

• QuickBooks Online (QBO)

• Xero

• Fulfil.io or similar ERP platforms (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.)

• Google Sheets

• MS Excel

• Accounting software tools

• Project Management Tools (Asana, Notion, Trello, etc.)

Qualifications:

• At least 35 years of freelancing experience

• 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping/accounting experience

• Proven experience managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

• Strong understanding of US GAAP, reconciliation, and variance analysis

• Experience in financial forecasting, class-tracking, and cost allocation

• Proficient in closing books and preparing audit-ready reports

• Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of independent problem-solving

• Strong English communication and collaboration skills

Shift Schedule:

• Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm US PST.
