The role also requires an understanding of solution architecture and financial domain design, including the ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into secure and scalable blockchain architectures for digital assets in banking.

How you succeed

The successful candidate will have strong engineering hands-on experience in blockchain protocols, smart contracts, distributed systems, and enterprise-grade application development. You will work closely with business analysts, architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity and other engineering teams to design and deliver digital asset and blockchain solutions suitable for a regulated banking environment.

This role is ideal for an engineer who understands both modern Web3 technologies and the standards required in financial institutions, including security, resilience, auditability, regulatory compliance, and production-grade operational controls

What you do

  • Understand and design around digital asset lifecycles, including transaction processing, custody, tokenisation, settlement, and reconciliation, ensuring alignment with banking workflows and controls.

  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into secure, scalable architectures, covering on-chain and off-chain integration, data consistency, and end-to-end transaction flows across blockchain and enterprise systems.

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy blockchain applications, APIs, and services, ensuring clean code, secure development practices, and alignment with architecture standards

  • Build and operate systems with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, containerisation, and cloud-native platforms, ensuring resilience, scalability, and production readiness

  • Monitor and optimise production systems using metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and dashboards; manage incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver hot-fixes aligned with SLA, stability, and compliance requirements.

Who you are

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including significant backend development experience.

  • At least 3 years of hands-on blockchain or distributed ledger technology experience.

  • Strong in TypeScript/Node.js, Java, Solidity; experience building APIs, microservices, and secure systems.

  • Understanding of digital asset lifecycle (custody, wallets, tokenisation, settlement, reconciliation) and blockchain fundamentals.

  • Experience with distributed system design and on-chain/off-chain architectures, including data consistency and integration patterns.

  • Familiar with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and operating production systems with observability and SLAs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a bank, fintech, capital markets firm, payments company, or regulated financial institution.

  • Experience working in asset tokenisation, tokenised deposits, stablecoins, CBDCs, purpose-bound money, payments, settlements, custody and related.

  • Knowledge of Singapore financial services regulations, technology risk expectations, or MAS-aligned control environments.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Knowledge of smart contract security, formal verification, or audit processes.

  • Knowledge of confidential and privacy technologies, e.g., Zero Knowledge Proofs, Verifiable Credentials, Zero Trust Architecture etc

  • Understanding of ISO 20022, payments infrastructure, securities settlement, or treasury operations would be advantageous.

Key Competencies

  • Strong engineering discipline and attention to detail.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a regulated banking environment.

  • Practical understanding of risk, security, compliance, and operational resilience.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to simplify complex technical concepts.

  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams including business, legal, compliance, cybersecurity, and infrastructure.

  • Ability to balance innovation with production stability and regulatory expectations.

  • Strong ownership mindset and ability to deliver independently.
