Salary: Circa £50k - £60k
Location: Remote (with travel across UK)

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Bid Writer to join our central Business Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing high-quality written submissions across our four practice areas: Employability, Health, Education & Skills, and Economic Development.

You will work closely with subject matter experts, delivery teams and external partners to shape compelling, evaluator-focused responses. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening the quality, clarity and coherence of submissions, ensuring our bids clearly communicate Fedcap UK’s delivery model and wider group capability.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to organisational growth and play a meaningful role in securing services that improve outcomes for individuals and communities across the UK.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing high-quality written responses for complex bids and proposals

  • Leading or supporting storyboard sessions to shape messaging and structure

  • Working with subject matter experts to extract and refine strong content

  • Collaborating with partners and subcontractors to create cohesive submissions

  • Translating complex delivery models into clear, persuasive responses

  • Aligning responses to evaluation criteria and scoring methodologies

  • Identifying content gaps and proactively improve submission quality

  • Undertaking research and evidence gathering to strengthen responses

  • Reviewing and editing drafts to ensure clarity, consistency and accuracy

  • Using AI-enabled tools appropriately to support research and drafting

About You

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, collaborative and passionate about producing high-quality written work. You will bring strong bid writing experience and the ability to translate complex information into compelling, client-focused content.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience writing competitive bid responses or proposals

  • Excellent written English and strong editorial judgement

  • Experience working with SMEs and partners to shape content

  • Experience contributing to complex, multi-stakeholder submissions

  • Understanding of public sector procurement and evaluation approaches

  • Ability to analyse requirements and develop compelling responses

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines

  • Commitment to high standards and continuous improvement
