Position: Senior BI Developer

Location: Hybrid/Toronto Downtown

Overview

We are seeking a Senior BI Developer to
design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions in a large
enterprise environment. The role involves translating technical specifications
into tested applications, creating dashboards and reports, and ensuring data
accuracy and usability. Candidates must have strong experience with Azure BI
tools, Power BI, and advanced analytics, along with excellent problem-solving
and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Translate technical system specifications into
  working, tested applications, including:
• 
  Developing detailed programming specifications.
• 
  Writing and/or generating code.
• 
  Compiling data-driven programs, maintaining, and
  conducting unit tests.
• 
  Resolve and troubleshoot technical problems during
  software use and operation, including assistance with implementation,
  conversion, and migrations.

Skills and
Experience Requirements:

Must Have:

• 
  5+ years of experience in data analysis and BI
  development in medium to large corporate environments.
• 
  Detailed knowledge of BI functions: analytics, data
  modeling, data mining, reporting, report conversion, and data cleansing.
• 
  Experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure
  Storage, ADF, Azure Analysis Service.
• 
  Ability to design and develop BI dashboards and
  reports based on business requirements.
• 
  Implement, maintain, and support BI solutions in
  Microsoft and other BI platforms.

Nice to Have:

• 
  Experience with CRM systems.
• 
  Familiarity with OPS Transfer Payment (Grants) Model.

General
Skills:

• 
  Programming and analysis experience; specialized
  software package support.
• 
  Ability to collaborate throughout the Software
  Development Life Cycle.
• 
  Experience with structured methodologies for
  application development and maintenance.
• 
  Proficiency in design, coding, testing, debugging,
  and documentation.
• 
  Knowledge of object-oriented and third-generation
  language development tools.
• 
  Experience with relational and hierarchical
  database technologies.
• 
  Strong analytical, problem-solving, and
  decision-making skills.
• 
  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 
  Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in
  teams.

Desirable
Skills:

• 
  Knowledge of Internet-ready applications and rapid
  application development (RAD) methodologies.
• 
  Understanding of Information Management principles
  and practices.
• 
  Experience with middleware, gateways, and
  installation script modification.
• 
  Familiarity with AODA standards and ability to
  provide user/system documentation.

Oracle
Technical Skillsets – Nice to Have

• 
  Impact assessments on Oracle E-Business
  customizations and extensions.
• 
  Strong programming skills in Oracle database,
  PL/SQL, SQL, XML, Unix shell scripts, and Oracle Data Integrator.
• 
  Business knowledge of Oracle E-Business modules
  (GL, AR, AP, Inventory).
• 
  SQL tuning and partition tables expertise.
• 
  Experience with data warehouse, ETL methodologies,
  OBIEE, Java, and Oracle ADF.
