A Brief Overview
The Senior Benefits Analyst role will lead the day to day planning, delivery, compliance, vendor management, and associate communication for the organization's 401(k) and nonqualified executive retirement programs. Manages key plan operations including weekly payroll funding and reconciliation, ERISA audits, regulatory compliance, vendor relations, and issue resolution. Proactively identifies operational improvements, ensures flawless program delivery, and enhances the associate experience through education and financial wellness initiatives.
What You Will Do
Lead the end to end 401(k) operational cycle including weekly funding, payroll validation, contribution limit monitoring, and ongoing reconciliation of deferrals, employer match, loans, and corrective transactions. Ensure all processes are accurate, fully auditable, SOX compliant, and documented. Troubleshoot and resolve file integration errors, data mismatches, and systemic defects in partnership with Payroll, HRIS, and external vendors.
Participate in design and strategy discussions across all company benefit programs, partnering with Benefits team members and insurance/platform vendors. Support the planning, coordination, testing, communication, and execution of the annual Open Enrollment process. Serve as the primary contact for the company’s holiday and PTO programs and act as the back up for benefit claim funding and premium invoicing processes.
Serve as the day to day liaison with the recordkeeper, TPA, and financial wellness providers, ensuring adherence to service standards and timely resolution of operational or participant issues. Review vendor reporting, monitor service level metrics, and recommend plan enhancements. Partner with vendors to design and deliver retirement readiness campaigns, financial wellness programs, and participant education resources.
Lead annual compliance activities including nondiscrimination testing, the external financial audit, and timely ERISA Form 5500 and SAR filings. Coordinate with Payroll, Finance, HRIS, and external auditors to resolve findings and prevent recurrence. Maintain and update the Plan Document, SPD, amendments, and required participant notices. Monitor operational compliance throughout the year and partner with counsel or vendors on IRS/DOL correction programs (EPCRS) when needed.
Develop and maintain routine 401(k) plan reporting, dashboards, and control documentation. Perform periodic data audits to ensure accuracy across payroll, HRIS, and recordkeeper systems. Recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, participant experience, and compliance.
Manage the tracking, eligibility, enrollment, funding and communications for the Supplemental Executive Retirement Program (SERP).

What You Will Need
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, HR or related, Preferred
5-8 years - Direct experience with 401k delivery and program management. Strong familiarity with overall benefit programs, structures and design, Required
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to diagnose data discrepancies, file errors, and root cause operational issues.
Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations governing 401(k) plans, plan operations, audits, and nondiscrimination testing.
Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems, including understanding of data flows, payroll deductions, and vendor file integrations. Workday experience preferred.
High attention to detail and accuracy in reconciliations, audits, calculations, and control documentation.
Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain complex retirement concepts clearly to associates and partners.
General familiarity with all company benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, disability, leave, wellness, PTO/holiday, etc.) and the ability to support broader Benefits operations as needed.
