The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Behavioural Advisor to join the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA). The Senior Behavioural Advisor will lead the delivery of behavioural insights projects and programs to support enhanced environmental regulatory outcomes.

This role will provide expert advice and insights, applying behavioural approaches and methodologies to identify evidence-based solutions that support EPA priority outcomes and build agency capability.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have experience in leading end-to-end behavioural insights projects, from problem definition through to evaluation. This includes delivering audience and behavioural insights to inform communications campaigns, including exploratory audience research and behavioural strategy development.

As an integral part of the Campaigns and Behaviour Change team, in this role you would support the development and evaluation of EPA campaigns and programs through a combination of primary and secondary research, ensuring behavioural outcomes are clearly defined & robustly evaluated.

You will have experience in providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders in how to apply relevant behavioural methodologies to their work, including identifying interdependencies, assessing feasibility and leveraging resources in order to maximise efficiencies and organisational outcomes.

About the team

The Behavioural Insights team sits in the Campaigns and Behaviour Change Unit, along with the Marketing Campaigns team.

This Unit is part of the Corporate Affairs branch, which in turn sits within the Engagement, Digital & Innovation division. The Behavioural Insights team is responsible for driving impact by understanding audiences, diagnosing behavioural barriers, and designing evidence-based strategies that drive positive environmental and regulatory outcomes.
