
The Threat Assessment Tema intends to hire for one position at either a Senior Behavioral Health Consultant or Behavioral Health Manager based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Please indicate in your cover letter the position you wish to be considered for or indicate both.
Join the Threat Assessment Team and make a meaningful impact at the University of Iowa! This dynamic role offers you the opportunity to conduct violence risk assessments for faculty, staff, students, and visitors, ensuring safety across campus. You'll take the lead in developing and guiding complex organizational programs, working closely with a variety of influential partners—including Administration, Nursing Management, UI Police, Human Resources, UI Health Care-Safety and Security, and General Counsel. Be at the forefront of campus safety, responding in person to situations as needed and collaborating with departments throughout the University of Iowa, community partners, and other key entities. Duties to Include:
Conduct timely and expedited violence risk assessments and provide opinions on violence risk.
Consult with reporting parties utilizing empathy, reflective listening, and professionalism.
Assure compliance with threat assessment professional ethical standards.
Compliance to rules, regulations, and privacy requirements relating to FERPA, HIPAA, CLERY, and Law Enforcement sensitive records.
Location: University Services Building (USB)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Pay: Senior Behavioral Health Consultant$59,921 to commensurate; Behavioral Health Manager: $74,150 to commensurate

Senior Behavioral Health Consultant - Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, behavioral sciences, sociology, social work, or psychology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience (typically 3 years) in managing situations and conducting interviews that involve individuals who are emotionally distraught or person(s) with complex personality traits or tendencies.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work with complex systems, balance multiple priorities, and to ensure a high level of accuracy in work produced.
Proficient analytical skills including the ability to analyze a variety of data, determine validity, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
Ability to work with users at all levels of experience as a team member and as an autonomous, self-motivated sole contributor.
Senior Behavioral Health Consultant - Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree in behavioral health, behavioral sciences, sociology, social work, or psychology.
Experience working with Human Resource Processes.
Knowledge of UI policy and procedures.
Behavioral Health Manager - Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in behavioral health field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience (typically 3 years) in program development in behavioral health or Threat Assessment/Violence Prevention and conducting investigations pertaining to loss prevention.
Certified Threat Manager (CTM)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build coalitions among multiple stakeholders.
Public speaking or training, including the proficient use of multimedia systems.
Behavioral Health Manager - Desired Qualifications:
Beyond 3 years’ experience in program development in behavioral health or Threat Assessment/Violence Prevention, and conduction investigations pertaining to loss prevention.
Experience in consultation, assessment, intervention planning to organizational leaders.
Knowledge of UI policy and procedures.
Experience working with Human Resource processes.
