Job Description
In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
- Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
- Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
- Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
- Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
- A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
- Federal Work Study student may apply.
- In good disciplinary standing.
- Must be located in the U.S.

In partnership with faculty and department leadership, coordinates all large ensemble operations and logistics. Manages a team of Student Ensemble Coordinators to take attendance for all large instrumental ensembles at Boston Conservatory, under the supervision of the Chair of the Instrumental Studies Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take attendance for any cycles necessary
- Assist with training and assigning the team of Student Ensemble Assistants (attendance takers) to cover needs of all large ensemble cycles
- Act as a liaison between students, ringers, faculty, guest conductors and administration.
- This is especially important in regards to the maintenance of good morale. (This requires knowing a great deal of the instrumental music students and faculty and communicating with them regularly)
- Create attendance sheets for each concert cycle
- Use Google Sheets and Docs to create various documents, including attendance sheets, phone directory, and information signs
- Work closely with the Department Chair to track attendance, monitor the concert attire dress code, and manage Ringer needs (contracts, IDs, music sign-out, etc.)
- Send concert information emails to all students involved in a performance, including reminders of call times, transportation, dress code, ticketing and equipment moves
- On rehearsal and concert days at off campus venues, manage student bus transportation to ensure timely arrival to and departure from off-campus venues, tracking bus attendance. If unavailable, assign and train another Student Ensemble Assistant to manage this task
- Recording attendance for all ensembles in master attendance sheet, collecting this information from the Student Ensemble Assistants
- Communicate concerns with Chair of Instrumental Studies
