YOUR PROFILE:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Control / Mechatronics / Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
• Proven hands-on experience (5+ years) with Li-ion batteries in automotive/industrial energy storage, with demonstrated depth in chemistry and cell characterization
• Experience working with battery suppliers and interpreting technical data (cell characterization, abuse tests, aging results)
• Solid understanding of thermal management for batteries (cooling/heating architectures, thermal limits, preconditioning needs)
• Familiarity with battery safety concepts and standards expectations (e.g., abuse scenarios, isolation monitoring principles, safe state concepts)
• Experience with charging-performance collaboration (charge curves, charge acceptance, lithium plating risk mitigation)
• Experience with different cell formats (pouch, prismatic, cylindrical) and pack integration strategies (module-to-pack, cell-to-pack)
• Experience with benchmarking / teardown interpretation and cost/performance trade studies
• Knowledge of recycling / second-life considerations and regulatory trend impacts
• Fluent speaking and excellent writing skills in English (German would be a plus)
• Willingness to frequent and long-term travel abroad

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES;
• Responsible for system and functional integration and technical project management
• Participation in the preparation of battery system requirements and specifications
• Liaise with the other teams to provide information regarding the battery requirements and specifications
• Evaluate and compare Li-ion chemistries for platform targets
• Define chemistry-dependent design constraints and operational envelopes
• Provide guidance on degradation mechanisms and implications for fast charging and warranty
• Provide technical direction for BMS strategy assumptions
• Define battery-relevant operating modes and expected behaviors
• Align with HV System Engineer on fault reactions
• Lead/participate in technical design reviews and track actions to closure
• Evaluate supplier test data and translate findings into design decisions
• Define and manage battery performance requirements and KPIs
• Define battery-specific validation needs and acceptance criteria
