Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Batch Plant Operator to lead and oversee the daily operations of our batching plant. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of concrete and other materials. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, technical expertise in batching operations, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all batching plant operations, ensuring timely and accurate production of concrete mixes
  • Monitor and control batching equipment and systems to ensure consistent quality and compliance with specifications
  • Coordinate with dispatch, quality control, and maintenance teams to optimize plant performance
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior operators and plant staff
  • Maintain accurate production records, inventory logs, and daily reports
  • Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
  • Ensure raw materials are properly stored, handled, and replenished as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in plant operations or engineering is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in concrete batching or related plant operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of batching systems, concrete mix designs, and quality control standards
  • Proficient in operating computerized batching systems and plant automation software
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with OSHA and environmental safety standards

Preferred Skills

  • Forklift or heavy equipment operation certification
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs
  • Knowledge of local construction and materials regulations
  • Bilingual communication skills (if applicable)
