Job Title: Senior Manager -- Production Maintenance

Department: Operations

Location: Croton, Ohio

Job Type: Full time

Travel: 0-15%

The Senior Manager -- Production Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and optimization of all production equipment, facilities, and grounds across multiple poultry production sites. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance programs to ensure optimal functioning of production systems, buildings, and surrounding areas while maintaining operational efficiency, safety, and compliance.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement strategic maintenance plans for production equipment and facilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians and facilities staff
  • Oversee daily maintenance operations of production systems
  • Implement advanced preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Conduct and oversee complex diagnostics and root cause analysis on critical systems
  • Ensure compliance with animal welfare, biosecurity and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and safety departments to align maintenance with operational goals
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance processes and energy efficiency
  • Oversee spare parts inventory management and cost-optimization strategies
  • Coordinate specialized maintenance tasks such as manure belt operations and biosecurity station upkeep
  • Manage environmental systems including ventilation, temperature control, and wastewater treatment
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of poultry production systems and equipment
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and TPM methodologies
  • Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices in agriculture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CMRP, CEM)
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing facility management
  • Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices
  • Familiarity with lean management principles

Work Environment

This position involves a mix of office work and on-site presence in poultry production facilities. The role requires regular travel between sites to oversee operations and conduct inspections. Physical demands include navigating various facility areas, including work at heights, in confined spaces, and exposure to production environments. The Senior Manager must be comfortable in diverse settings, from offices to production floors, and adapt to the challenges of a live animal production environment. Flexibility in working hours is essential to address urgent maintenance issues or oversee critical projects.
