At B2Tech, our Payments Team builds and operates the core services and infrastructure behind our payment gateway.

We process merchant transactions across multiple payment providers, where reliability, performance, and accuracy are essential

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us strengthen and scale our payment platform, improve delivery, and drive high engineering standards across B2Tech.

What You’ll Do

• Designing, building, and maintaining backend services and shared libraries used across gateway and integration teams.

• Developing scalable, cloud-native microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and integrations using C# and .NET 9.

• Working across our data and messaging stack, including PostgreSQL / EF Core, Redis / Valkey, and Kafka.

• Designing resilient message-driven workflows using patterns such as Transactional Outbox/Inbox, idempotent processing, sagas/process managers, retries, eventual consistency, and event sourcing where appropriate.

• Creating reusable engineering standards and building blocks for configuration, observability, logging, and testing.

• Improving the reliability, performance, testability, observability, and maintainability of payment-critical services.

• Strengthening service observability with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Thanos, Loki, Grafana, and Coralogix, including RED metrics, tracing, and health probes.

• Partnering with product and integration teams to turn business and technical requirements into effective, well-abstracted solutions.

• Mentoring engineers and driving adoption of modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development.

What We’re Looking For

• Must-Haves

  • Strong backend engineering experience with C# and ASP.NET

  • Experience designing and building distributed systems, microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and shared components.

  • Strong understanding of distributed-system and microservice patterns, including Transactional Outbox/Inbox, idempotent message processing, sagas, distributed transactions, retries, and eventual consistency.

  • Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL / EF Core and caching or key-value stores such as Redis.

  • Experience with Kafka or equivalent message brokers and event-driven architecture.

  • Experience using AI coding agents or AI-assisted development tools.

  • Strong understanding of engineering best practices across integration testing, CI/CD, code quality, observability, and reliability.

  • Ability to take ownership, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate effectively across engineering teams.

• Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in payments, fintech, or other high-reliability transactional environments.

  • Practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Exposure to GitOps / ArgoCD and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.

  • Experience running services on AWS, particularly EKS, RDS, MSK, ElastiCache, SSM, or Secrets Manager.

  • Familiarity with .NET Aspire and OpenTelemetry-based observability.
