As a Senior Backend Engineer, youll be designing and architecting scalable solutions, creating robust APIs, and building new microservices from the ground upwhile also improving and optimizing our existing systems. This isnt just another engineering role. What Youll Do:

• Architect and develop scalable TypeScript microservices powering XILOs platform.
• Youll have the opportunity to work where your strengths shine and contribute to::
  AI Agents Automating complex decision-making and workflows
  OCR & Document Processing Extracting, structuring, and analyzing key insights from insurance documents
  Intelligent Data Mapping Aggregating and linking all relevant data into a centralized, dynamic user profile
  Advanced Insurance Operations & CRM The AI-powered backbone of agencies, seamlessly tracking, managing, and integrating customer data across tools and workflows while replacing outdated, manual processes
  Forms Builder & Smart Data Entry A Typeform-like system built for insurance, enabling error-proof, collaborative submissions fill once, apply everywhere
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, frontend, data science) to deliver seamless integrations.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.
• Implement best practices for API security, data privacy, and maintainability.

What were looking for

• 7+ years of backend development experience, with a strong foundation in TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Proven expertise in designing and developing software product features, with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Proven expertise in REST API design including authentication, performance optimization, and security best practices.
• Experience with XML and SOAP-based integrations, commonly used in the insurance industry.
• Strong hands-on experience with Nest.js, leveraging its modular architecture for scalable backend services.
• Familiarity with NX monorepos for structuring and maintaining large-scale applications.
• Cloud deployment experience on Heroku and AWS, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure management.
• Deep understanding of database management, ORM usage (e.g., TypeORM, Prisma, Sequelize), and zero-downtime migration strategies.
• Experience designing and implementing microservices architectures, including inter-service communication, data consistency, and service decoupling.
• Bonus: Full-stack experience with modern frontend frameworks like Angular.
