Hiire is helping Blip, a leading tech company focused on software engineering solutions for sports entertainment, hire a Senior Backend Engineer for their team to guide and support the department.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you are part of an agile Software Development Team, responsible for the full lifecycle of an application using cutting-edge technologies to deliver amazing value to their customers, while scaling their platform to meet the demands of worldwide markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to support the Product Owner with requirements and the team with solutions;

• Developing unit, component, and integrated tests with the guidance of the team's QA - you can expect to execute the full software development lifecycle;

• Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code to solve business needs and deploy applications in a Continuous Integration platform;

• Testing and documenting the implemented solutions will be a big part of your day-to-day;

• Mentoring other developers, peer programming, and guiding them on the tasks;

• Availability for on-call responsibilities.

What You'll Bring:

• At least 5 years of professional experience with Java;

• Previous team management experience;

• Experience with some or all of the following technologies: Scala; Kafka; Akka; Memcached; Apache Storm; Apache Cassandra; Zookeeper; RabbitMQ.

• Strong understanding of client–server protocols such as SOAP and REST;

• Experience with design patterns, and encourage the use of reusability techniques;

• Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese;

• Ability to guide junior team members and foster knowledge sharing;

• Collaboration and adaptability within multidisciplinary teams.
