We are now hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and own significant parts of our system — from the edge platform that runs our sensing and processing workloads in the field, through to the cloud services and data pipelines that turn that output into customer-facing insight. This is a hands-on role with real ownership: you will make design decisions, drive them to production, and be a technical anchor for the people around you.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend services and platform components across edge and cloud.
• Own features end to end — from requirements and design through deployment, monitoring, and long-term maintenance.
• Build and improve the data path: ingestion, processing, and delivery of high-volume time-series sensing data.
• Troubleshoot production and field issues across the stack, and turn root causes into durable fixes.
• Collaborate with other teams — algorithms, hardware, DevOps, and product — on cross-cutting requirements and integrations.
• Maintain high standards of software quality through code review, testing, and shared engineering practices, and mentor engineers on the team.

What You Bring

• BSc. in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in backend and system software development of complex systems.
• Highly proficient in Python.
• Solid experience building and operating services in a cloud environment (AWS preferred).
• Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration — Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with data stores and messaging at production scale — relational or NoSQL databases and message brokers.
• Experience taking ownership of a system in production, including deployment, observability, and on-call style debugging.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Great to Have

• Specific technologies – Ansible, Jenkins, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Helm, Terraform.
• Experience with data engineering: ETL/streaming pipelines, workflow orchestration (e.g. Airflow), and large-scale time-series or telemetry data.
• Experience with edge or on-premise deployments and lightweight Kubernetes distributions (k3s), including fleet management and GitOps.
• Experience with C++.
• Experience in projects that include algorithms and ML.
• Experience with HPC/CUDA and GPU workload scheduling.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and testing automation tools.
