Senior Backend Engineer

What You Will Do

• Design and implement robust backend systems that support high-volume data processing and analytics.
• Build and maintain APIs and services using Python and FastAPI to enhance product functionality.
• Optimize database performance and data modeling in PostgreSQL to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate backend services with frontend applications and data pipelines.
• Utilize cloud services (AWS or GCP) to deploy and manage scalable infrastructure.
• Proactively identify and resolve system bottlenecks to improve overall performance and reliability.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes to streamline deployment and enhance development workflows.

Ideal Candidate Background

• 7+ years of experience in backend engineering with deep expertise in Python and service-oriented architecture.
• Proven track record of building and owning production backend systems from design through deployment.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, data-intensive applications, and scalability challenges.
• Experience with modern DevOps practices, including containerization with Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with data processing frameworks and streaming technologies such as Kafka.

Preferred

• Experience working in fast-paced startup environments or high-growth companies.
• Background in AI, data infrastructure, or analytics systems to enhance product capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team best practices.

Compensation and Benefits
