About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer with a strong background in the eCommerce business domain. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in eCommerce platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), e-Commerce tools, and Order Management Systems (OMS) like Salesforce OMS. A strong understanding of key eCommerce platform capabilities—including product catalog management, promotions,inventory management, and product search indexing—is essential. The role also demands high proficiency in Java, experience with JavaScript frameworks, and building RESTful APIs that integrate various enterprise systems. This candidate will collaborate closely with Product Management, Business Stakeholders, and Cross-functional Teams while mentoring team members and supporting scalable backend development.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and system integrations for eCommerce platforms. Build and optimize RESTful APIs for seamless integration with OMS, PIM, CRM, and other enterprise systems. Implement and maintain logic around product catalog, inventory, promotions, and product search indexing. Work collaboratively with solution architects, frontend developers, and product teams to deliver cohesive solutions. Ensure code quality through rigorous testing, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines. Contribute to performance tuning and ensure backend systems are scalable and secure. Assist in resolving production issues and continuously enhance backend infrastructure. Mentor junior developers and actively participate in architectural discussions and planning.
Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of backend development experience in Java and JavaScript frameworks. Deep hands-on experience with eCommerce platforms like Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) and e-Commerce tools. Familiarity with eCommerce concepts including product catalog structure, promotions engine, inventory management, and search indexing strategies. Practical experience with Order Management Systems such as Salesforce OMS. Expertise in designing and building RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party systems. Understanding of secure, reliable, and scalable service-oriented architectures. Comfortable with cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional and diverse engineering teams. Experience in the retail or consumer-facing eCommerce domain. Familiarity with middleware platforms like Boomi or MuleSoft. Understanding of microservices and headless commerce architecture. Experience with containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
