What do we do in our team?
Vehicle Configuration & Update Team enables secure, scalable software updates,parametrization, and remote logging for High Performance Computer (HPC) platforms andECUs, both over-the-air and wired, and across global vehicle programs. We design andevolve the end-to-end update ecosystem, from backend services to vehicle integration,working hands-on with cutting-edge automotive software technologies.
With innovation and long-term product value at the core, we actively shape the Software-Defined Vehicle ambition at TRATON by building robust update capabilities that accelerateinnovation cycles, safeguard vehicle integrity, and unlock continuous software valuethroughout the entire vehicle lifecycle.
• Lead end-to-end development and deployment of cloud-native backend solutionswithin a cutting-edge automotive IoT ecosystem;
• Drive the technical roadmap and implement core functionalities for heavy-dutyvehicles using Agile methodologies;
• Architect scalable microservices using containers, serverless functions, RESTful APIs, and event streaming;
• Design and build high-impact prototypes and MVPs for specialized near-vehicleservices;
• Take full ownership of product cycles, including hardware-in-the-loop validation with embedded systems;
• Act as a technical subject matter expert, mentoring cross-functional teams on backend best practices and IoT tooling;
• Bridge the gap between electrical engineering, IT infrastructure, and end-users to solve complex technical challenges;
• Champion a results-oriented culture focused on continuous process optimization and emerging technology adoption
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or comparable job expertise;
• At least 5 years of professional experience;
• Deep expertise in Java/Kotlin backend development with a focus on RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures;
• Mastery of the Spring Boot framework to build and scale robust enterprise applications;
• Advanced proficiency in designing and optimizing complex SQL and NoSQL database solutions;
• Extensive experience managing AWS cloud services, Infrastructure-as-Code, and proactive monitoring;
• Proven track record in designing CI/CD pipelines and managing distributed microservice architectures;
• Commitment to Clean Code and Clean Architecture principles to ensure high maintainability and quality;
• Expertise in event streaming and messaging tools, including Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, and MQTT;
• Strong background in integrating and optimizing PaaS and cloud-native paradigms;
• Agile and DevOps mindset;
• Very good English skills, both written and spoken.
