You will support Continental’s Fleet Platform for the Americas and will collaborate with US and EU SCRUM teams of Angular and Java developers along with DevOps team for continuous delivery.

Continental is looking for a highly skilled Backend Java Developer to work within their Data and Customer Solution Competence Center. With this job, you join the global team working on Fleet Solutions for the Americas.

Main Responsibilities

  • Exposure to implementation design and develop using Java Spring Boot framework for current developments;
  • Collaboration with front end team members for development of restful APIs;
  • Collaboration with global team members in US and EU;
  • Responsibility for development of test code / test scenarios ensuring high quality;
  • Provide production support;
  • Ability to efficiently debug and resolve technical issues;
  • Compile technical documentation and user assistance material, requiring excellent written communication in English;
  • Ensure continuous professional self-development;
  • Follow Scrum/Agile methodologies to organize and plan projects.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field;
  • +3 years of experience with Java programming.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Eureka;
  • Exposure to continuous integration tools such as Git, Jenkins, SonarQube;
  • Experience with client-server applications and microservice architecture;
  • Exposure to testing frameworks such as Junit, Mockito, Cucumber;
  • Exposure to JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, AngularJS, JQuery, Karma testing framework (a plus);
  • Experience with user interface design, database structures and statistical analyses (a plus);
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a software development team members;
  • Exposure to model data in relational database such as PostgreSQL;
  • Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English;
  • Good organizational skills.
