Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS GovCloud AdministratorSystems Engineer III to administer and support secure, resilient cloud infrastructure environments for federal healthcare systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS GovCloud infrastructure operations, enterprise storage, high availability design, monitoring, cybersecurity compliance, and audit-ready infrastructure with highly desired experience integrating and supporting OpenText ECM platforms. This role requires strong technical leadership and experience supporting mission-critical systems in regulated environments, along with compliance awareness and the ability to deliver secure, scalable, and mission-ready solutions.

Successful candidates will demonstrate experience in the design, deployment, and support of enterprise architectures in mission-critical federal environments. Responsibilities include:

  • Design, provision, and manage AWS GovCloud storage services, including Amazon S3, EBS, EFS, FSx for NetApp ONTAP, and Glacier, ensuring secure, compliant, and high-availability storage for mission-critical workloads.
  • Deep expertise in architecting, deploying, and maintaining solutions on AWS EC2 using Kubernetes orchestration and Docker-based workloads.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable network architectures across AWS GovCloud, and hybrid environments for DoD and federal agency requirements.
  • Configure replication, backup, and disaster recovery solutions across multiple regions and availability zones.
  • Develop and maintain COOP strategies to ensure mission continuity during outages or emergency events.
  • Monitor and optimize storage performance, capacity, and cost efficiency.
  • Apply encryption, IAM policies, and access controls to protect sensitive and regulated data.
  • Configure and manage network components, including firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, routers, and switches to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Enforce DoD-aligned cybersecurity controls (NIST, FedRAMP, DISA STIGs) while collaborating with architecture, security, and application teams to support secure integrations between enterprise networks and OpenText ECM platforms, ensuring compliant, efficient, and reliable connectivity.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years designing and managing AWS GovCloud infrastructures in federal or large-scale environments.
  • Strong experience in administering and managing AWS storage services (S3, EBS, EFS, Glacier) in GovCloud environments.
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Security Groups).
  • Demonstrated experience in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution in AWS GovCloud.
  • Proficiency in automation tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible) for storage provisioning and management.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, GuardDuty, AWS Config) for performance and compliance.
  • Familiarity with OpenText ECM platforms and their integration requirements (highly desired).
  • Strong knowledge of DoD and federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, DISA STIGs).
  • Experience with PKI, certificate management, and secure access controls.
  • Strong understanding of IAM, KMS, and encryption-at-rest/in-transit for secure storage.

Typical Duties/Abilities

  • Collaborate with technical teams to translate business requirements into secure, scalable network solutions.
  • Architect and manage hybrid network infrastructures spanning on-premises and AWS GovCloud.
  • Implement automated monitoring, patching, and disaster recovery processes for network components.
  • Document and maintain network configurations, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular DR/COOP exercises to validate readiness and compliance.
  • Provide technical support to system owners and users, addressing network-related issues.

Soft Skills

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean Startup, XP).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a track record of solution ownership.
  • Ability to articulate and document design/configuration choices and build consensus among stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and compliance requirements.

Education/Certifications

  • BS degree in Information Technology or related technical discipline.
  • Security+ Certification (desired).
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator (desired).

Additional Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to complete the government's background investigation.
