Job Description

• Perform advanced diagnostics using OBD-II scanners, multimeters, and manufacturer-specific software to identify and resolve complex issues in engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, and suspension.
• Lead a team of 4-6 technicians, assigning tasks, providing on-the-job training, and conducting quality assurance checks to maintain consistent standards and productivity.
• Execute repairs and maintenance on domestic, import, and hybrid/electric vehicles, including component replacement, alignments, and fluid services, while documenting all work for warranty and compliance purposes.
• Collaborate with service advisors and parts managers to review repair orders, estimate labor and parts, and communicate repair timelines to customers clearly and professionally.
• Troubleshoot and repair advanced systems such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), infotainment, and EV battery management, staying ahead of evolving automotive technologies.
• Maintain a safe and organized workspace, adhering to OSHA guidelines, proper tool usage, and environmental regulations for waste disposal and hazardous materials.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs and recommend upselling opportunities based on vehicle inspections to enhance customer retention and shop revenue.
• Track job progress using shop management software, analyze repair data for process improvements, and participate in continuous education to earn or renew certifications.

Candidate Requirement

• High school diploma; completion of an accredited automotive technology program or equivalent vocational training required.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Master Technician certification (A1-A8) or equivalent; additional certifications in (Light Duty Diesel) or EV/hybrid systems preferred.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools (e.g., Launch, Bosch, or Snap-on scanners) and repair of gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel vehicles.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in a dealership or high-volume independent shop environment.
• Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills, including wiring diagrams and ECU reprogramming.
• Familiarity with alignment machines, scan tools for live data monitoring, and precision measuring instruments.
• Excellent communication skills for team leadership and customer interactions, with a focus on problem-solving and efficiency.
