About this role

BrokerBay is recruiting for a s easoned Quality Engineering professional. The Senior Automation Quality Assurance Engineer will function as an individual contributor to achieve objectives that have a significant impact on mobile automation in the industry. This is a process-driven role where your experience and knowledge to influence the development, modification, application, and maintenance, or quality evaluation, control systems, and protocols can be utilized. We need someone who can bring a fresh perspective to the team and able to mentor others.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Toronto office.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the quality of the work produced by the team
• Design, write and implement test strategies and test cases
• Create and maintain test documentation
• Execute testing of web and mobile applications: exploratory, functional, acceptance, regression
• Ensure that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, prioritized, and tracked
• Identify regression test cases
• Write web and mobile UI and API automation
• Investigate production issues and write bugs accordingly
• Suggest improvements to the processes to increase the quality of the product and performance of the team
• Mentor other Quality Assurance team members
• Work closely with product managers and developers

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of experience testing web and mobile SAS applications
• 3+ years of experience in testing cloud environment (GCP/Azure/AWS, MongoDB, REST API)
• 3+ years of experience in writing automation tests
• 2+ years of experience in coding in Java and JavaScript

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Computer Science
• Demonstrated experience with mobile applications, especially with React Native
• Written and verbal English communication skills
• Work in a collaborative environment
• Prioritize tasks and a willingness to seek guidance when needed
• Inquisitive and attentive to details
• Experience with Cypress
• Experience with TESTMO
• Knowledge of Jira and Confluence
• Knowledge of Jenkins
