Job Description

Based in Shanghai, this role contributes to internal audit and risk management activities that support Chanel’s business objectives across Asia Pacific markets, including Japan. The Senior Auditor will execute a diverse portfolio of compliance, operational, financial, and technology-related audits, while also taking ownership of special projects and ad-hoc assignments. As a hands-on contributor, they will perform internal audit reviews across markets and functions to evaluate controls for dynamic business risks and identify improvement opportunities. In addition to technical expertise, the Senior Auditor will serve as a business partner to key stakeholders, providing critical insights that support risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive audit work programs and test plans to assess key risks and control effectiveness.
  • Prepare and manage document request lists, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required materials.
  • Organize and lead kick-off and audit planning meetings, ensuring key stakeholders are aligned.
  • Conduct and execute audit fieldwork, ensuring thorough evaluation and testing and evaluating business processes for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Document audit findings and support the Senior Manager, Internal Audit Business Partner on the closure of follow-up actions when needed.
  • Draft high-quality audit findings and reports that provide clear, concise, and actionable recommendations while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support audit managers in special projects and ad hoc assignments, as required, to support internal audit and business initiatives.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices to enhance audit methodologies.
  • Willing to travel up to 30%, embracing opportunities to engage with Chanel teams and operations across the Asia Pacific region.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CIA, CPA, CFE, CISA) preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in internal audit profession, compliance, or risk management within a corporate or public accounting setting; experience in the retail and/or luxury sector is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of internal audit principles, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance practices.
  • Analytical mindset, curiosity, and a passion for identifying innovative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels during audit engagements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI), hands-on experience in data mining and data analytics is a plus.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively in dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency/fluency in Mandarin and English (both verbal and written communication) is a must.
