About the Role

The Channel Company is looking for a hands-on Senior Audience Growth Specialist to directly grow and activate our audiences across new and emerging media platforms — including YouTube, social channels, WhatsApp communities, newsletters, events, and owned platforms.

This is a doer role, not apeople managementrole. You will personally design, execute, test, optimise and scale audience acquisition activityend to end. We are not looking for someone whoknows how it should be doneand delegates — we need someone who gets stuck inand owns outcomes.

You will be accountable for audience growth results across multiple channels, working closely with marketing, editorial, events andcommunities’teams, but without managing a team.A key outcome is growingpermissioned first-party identityacross platforms to strengthen our Unified Partner ID/identity graph. This role is for asenior specialist, builder, operator.

WhatYou’llDo

Drive Audience Growth Across New Media Channels

  • Execute audience acquisition across YouTube, social platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, X, Instagram), WhatsAppcommunities, newsletters, and events
  • Build, launch and optimise acquisition funnels-from first touch through repeat engagement
  • Growhighquality, engaged audiences, notvanity metrics

Own and Improve theEndtoEndAudience Journey

  • Map,testand refine the full audience journey across channels and touchpoints
  • Identifyfriction points in discovery, registration,optinand engagement-and fix them
  • Continuously experiment with formats, messaging,CTAsand distribution strategies

Be HandsOnWithPlatforms & Tools

  • Set up and optimise landing pages, forms,registrationsand conversion paths
  • Work directly in CRM, marketing automation,analyticsand community platforms
  • UseAIenabledtools to scale testing, insight generation and personalisation

Build and ActivateFirstPartyAudiences

  • Growoptedin, compliantfirstpartyaudiences across owned channels
  • Use behavioural and performance data to inform targeting,segmentationand prioritisation
  • Translateinsights into practical changes, notjust reports

Measure, Learn and Optimise

  • Track performance across channels (growth, conversion, engagement, retention)
  • Clearly articulatewhat’sworking, whatisn’t, and whatyou’lldo next
  • Take ownership of outcomes-adjust fast when somethingisn’tdelivering

Partner Without Managing

  • Work closely with marketing, editorial, events andcommunities’teams to align execution
  • Influence throughexpertiseand delivery rather than hierarchy
  • Act as a trusted operator who gets things done

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 4 - 8 years in audience growth, acquisition, lifecycle or distribution roles
  • Proven hands-on execution across digital and social channels (especially YouTube, social, messaging/community platforms)
  • Experience in B2B media, events, content or community led businesses strongly preferred
  • Track record of personally delivering measurable audience growth

Skills & Approach

·Deep knowledge of SEO principles, social media algorithms, and CRM platforms

·Ability to perform cohort and funnel analysis to identify where users are engaged and dropping off

·Strong interpersonal skills to influence editorial and product teams to adopt new data-driven workflows

·Doer mentality - you execute, test, iterate and ship

·Comfortable being accountable for results without managing people

  • Data literate and platform savvy, but focused on action over theory
  • Strong understanding of audience behavior and content led growth
  • Pragmatic, resourceful and biased towards progress

  • Senior enough to own outcomes, humble enough to roll up sleeves
  • Curious, experimental and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Motivated by impact, not job titles or headcount

What success looks like

  • Grownet new permissioned users(registrations/subscribers) across priority channels
  • Improveconversion ratesfrom reach → click → register → repeat engagement
  • Increaseengagement quality(return visits, newsletter CTR, content depth)
  • Launch and scale2–3 repeatable acquisition loops(e.g., YouTube → newsletter, events → community, WhatsApp → return visits)
  • Establish a weeklytest-and-learn cadencewith clear reporting.
