Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior AU Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of an Australian business. This role is ideal for someone with strong Xero experience who is comfortable handling reconciliations, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.

You will work closely with management and external accountants to ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms in Xero
  • Manage accounts payable, supplier invoices, and expense processing
  • Process refunds, payroll, and weekly payment runs
  • Prepare cashflow reports and financial reports for management
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
  • Assist with month-end tasks, including reconciliations and journals
  • Support financial tracking for events, competitions, and projects
  • Liaise with external accountants and assist with finance process improvements

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance roles supporting Australian businesses
  • Strong Xero experience
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll, and reporting
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools
  • Experience with Power BI or Google Sheets is a plus
