Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Attorney, Litigation to support and manage an assigned portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters. Working with legal leadership, business partners, and outside counsel, this role provides practical legal analysis, supports matter strategy, and helps manage litigation risk, cost, and outcomes.

This position is suited for a litigation attorney who is ready to expand ownership of matters while continuing to build strategic judgment, cross-functional influence, and leadership capability.

You will work out of our Charlotte, NC location on a Hybrid work schedule.

• Manage the day-to-day activities for assigned litigation and dispute matters, which may include commercial litigation, personal injury, products liability, and pre-litigation disputes.
• Conduct legal research and factual analysis, assess risk, and develop recommendations in partnership with more senior attorneys.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to support matter strategy, discovery, settlement evaluation, budgeting, and resolution planning.
• Serve as a legal point of contact for assigned matters, escalating significant risks, strategic decisions, and material developments as appropriate.
• Review outside counsel work product, invoices, budgets, and matter progress, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and alignment.
• Prepare clear, concise legal analyses, status updates, and recommendations for legal leadership and business partners.
• Collaborate with business, compliance, and risk teams to identify litigation exposure and support practical mitigation measures.
• Monitor relevant legal, regulatory, and industry developments and communicate potential implications to appropriate stakeholders.
• Maintain matter records and ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable laws, ethical standards, and company policies.
• Demonstrate ownership and accountability for assigned work while seeking guidance on high risk, or highly complex matters.
• Build trusted relationships by providing responsive, practical, and business-oriented legal support.
• Share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to improvements in litigation processes, templates, tools, and best practices.

YOU MUST HAVE

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• Typically, 4-7 years of litigation experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal environment.

• Experience with commercial litigation or product liability
• Prior in-house experience or substantial client-facing responsibility.
• Experience supporting or managing litigation matters and working with outside counsel.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to translate legal risk into practical business guidance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively across functions.
• Exposure to cross-border disputes or litigation outside the United States.
• Experience preparing or presenting legal recommendations to business and legal stakeholders.
• Interest in continued professional growth and progressively broader matter responsibility.
