The role

We are seeking a Associate/Principal Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineer – Water Infrastructure wishing to join an industry leader. You will be a key member of our water team delivering major capital projects and facility upgrades across the ANZ business. Our water team offers services across the full water cycle, delivering major pipelines, large pumping stations and advanced water, wastewater, and recycling treatment plants.

This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

With a minimum of 10+ years’ experience, your core responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and proactively collaborate with Water Infrastructure team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables
  • Detailed design of electrical, instrumentation and control systems with a focus on LV electrical systems including schematics, equipment layout, motor control centres and communications systems, SCADA, instrumentation and PLCs.
  • Provide technical reports and specifications for projects (design reports, functional descriptions, technical specifications)
  • Apply project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplish project deliverables to the required standard in a timely manner.

With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Relevant 10+ years' experience in Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Engineering experience, ideally gained within the water sector or industrial plant
  • CHAZOP experience highly desirable
  • Familiarity with standards, conceptual and detailed design, and design management of electrical infrastructure
  • Design experience with knowledge of industry standards.
  • Strong skills in instrumentation, controls, SCADA and LV design
  • Applied knowledge of relevant standards including AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 3008.1.1.
  • Experience with design software such as PowerCADis preferred
  • Well-developed communication skills with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
