
Senior Associate / Vice President, Accounting and Regulatory Reporting, Financial Control, Hong KongCountry: Hong Kong
The Senior Associate or Vice President will play a critical role within the Financial Control function. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to details, and the ability to comprehend HKMA regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will contribute to the integrity and accuracy of financial and regulatory reporting while driving process improvements and automation initiatives over the financial information.
Regulatory Reporting & Compliance
Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and submission of information to HKMA
Comprehend and analyse HKMA regulatory requirements and assess their impact on reporting and business activities
Review accounting and regulatory reporting implications of new products, transactions, and strategic initiatives
Maintain robust controls and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing and Head Office reporting in accordance with Group policies and IFRS
Assist with tax reporting and transfer pricing implementation in line with Group and local requirements
Process Improvement & Automation
Actively participate in the automation and enhancement of regulatory reporting processes using new reporting solutions or AI tools, and engage closely with the key stakeholders to contribute to the success of these initiatives
Identify inefficiencies and proactively and resolve reporting issues through data-driven analysis
Stakeholder Management
Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders on accounting and regulatory matters
Requirements
Experience
A qualified accountant with minimum 6 years of work experience for senior associate (9 years for VP), with meaningful experience in financial institutions in the accounting or reporting areas
Previous Big 4 experience is a plus
Successful track record in driving system changes, or process improvements is a plus
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of HKMA regulatory framework and reporting requirements (experience with GDR is a plus)
Strong understanding of IFRS particularly treatments on corporate and investment banking products
Proficiency in data tools (Power Query, SQL) and AI tools for automation and data analysis is a plus
Proficiencies in English and Chinese, and can speak in Mandarin
