As a Senior Associate, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting senior bankers, mentoring junior team members, and building strong relationships with emerging leaders at our client organizations.

As our Senior Associate – Telecoms, Media & Technology Sector Coverage, you will:

  • Build and maintain relationships with junior and mid-level client contacts, positioning HSBC as a trusted partner as their careers progress
  • Support senior bankers in managing and expanding relationships with key international and TMT sector clients
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and pitch materials tailored to client needs
  • Coordinate origination and execution of banking solutions across Credit & Lending, Leveraged & Acquisition Finance, Debt & Equity-Linked Capital Markets, Transaction Banking, Global Markets, and Asset Management
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and market intelligence to identify opportunities and risks for clients
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of client portfolios, sectors, and competitors, synthesizing insights for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Train, mentor, and oversee analysts and junior associates, ensuring high-quality work and professional growth
  • Lead by example, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture
  • Review and enhance analysts’ work on client materials, financial models, and research, providing actionable feedback
  • Critically assess credit exposures and support the preparation of tailored credit approval papers
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations, proactively managing operational and financial crime risks
  • Maintain outstanding data quality in internal systems
  • Liaise with relationship teams globally to ensure seamless client coverage and knowledge sharing
  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity, acting as a role model for HSBC values and business principles
  • Contribute to building HSBC’s franchise value and reputation in the market

You´ll likely have the following skills to succeed in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree or relevant certifications a plus
  • Demonstrated experience training and mentoring junior team members
  • Strong client relationship management skills, with a focus on building rapport at all levels
  • Deep understanding of corporate banking products and sector trends (especially TMT)
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing abilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience in banking, consulting, or relevant sector roles
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses required (or willingness to obtain within a set timeframe)

Your final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and several variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
