The role

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Senior Associate or Special Counsel with 8 years or more of post admission experience to join our busy and successful Tax team at Piper Alderman.

Working directly with Tax Partner, Megan Bishop, this is a rare and exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of high-quality work in a diverse tax practice that advises across State and Federal Tax issues with a client base that ranges from individuals through to ASX listed entities. You will need to demonstrate solid tax technical skills and experience in advising on corporate deals and transactions with at least some GST and income tax background. State awareness would also be positively viewed.

This role will give you the opportunity to consistently challenge yourself through being exposed to a range of interesting work, as well as being exposed to a range of clients with flexible career progression options. You will be provided with continuous learning opportunities and will be mentored and supported as you develop your career. Your learning experience will be underpinned by an excellent CLE program and the opportunity to build relationships within our National Corporate team and gain exposure to work across Australia.

To succeed in this role you will ideally have

• Experience as an admitted lawyer with 8 years PQE experience within Tax
• A strong academic record coupled with excellent technical legal skills
• A commitment to excellence and delivery of high-quality outcomes to our clients
• Ability to effectively manage your own time, managing competing tasks and at time working to tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• A proactive and ‘can do’ attitude with an eagerness to learn and grow your career with Piper Alderman
