Our mission is to develop therapies that empower the immune system to combat neurodegeneration and our team is focused on developing treatments for some of the most challenging diseases facing our society. By harnessing advancements in genetics, immunology and neuroscience, we are pioneering the development of potential therapies to counteract the devastating progression of neurodegeneration. We are supported in this mission by experienced and accomplished scientists and clinicians, a novel portfolio of programs, leading healthcare investors, and pharma company partners, who share in our commitment to bettering the lives of patients and realizing a world where we make brain disorders history.
Alector is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist, Computational Biology, to join our dynamic team. You will play a key role in advancing our understanding of the biology underlying neurodegenerative diseases, improving our computational pipelines, and supporting the discovery of new therapeutic targets.
In this role, you will analyze and interpret complex biological data, with a particular focus on high-content imaging and cell segmentation, alongside high-dimensional multi-omics datasets. You will collaborate with scientists across R&D to design experiments, analyze results, and translate data into meaningful biological insights, while also helping to modernize our pipelines with emerging AI and machine-learning tools.
At Alector, our vision is bold, people are our priority, and our values are at the core of everything we do. Our dynamic and flexible environment encourages our teams to experiment, take ownership of decisions, and question convention to solve complex problems. We value shared wins, perseverance, and a growth mindset, which drives us forward, together.

We are a late-stage clinical biotechnology company with a mission to make degenerative brain disorders history. Our robust portfolio of therapies is focused on counteracting the devastating progression of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly in areas of high unmet need where therapeutic options are limited. We are at the forefront of a scientific and clinical revolution, committed to understanding the complex mechanisms that drive neurodegenerative diseases, including the roles of toxic misfolded proteins, deficient proteins, and lysosomal, immune system, and neuronal dysfunction.
We aim to develop product candidates that remove toxic proteins, replace critical deficient proteins, and restore immune and nerve cells to normal function. To pursue this aim, we are advancing a portfolio of programs that address genetically validated targets. These programs leverage our deep understanding of the genetic underpinnings of these diseases, combined with our expertise in drug development, proprietary protein engineering, antibody discovery, and our innovative Alector Brain Carrier (ABC) technology for blood-brain barrier (BBB) transport. We are advancing ABC, our proprietary, versatile BBB technology platform and selectively applying it within our portfolio.
Alector is based in South San Francisco, CA. We were founded in 2013 by thought leaders in biotechnology, neuroscience, and antibody drug discovery.
