Senior Associate, Sales Support – Index Sales, FTSE Russell

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join FTSE Russell, one of the world's leading index providers, at the intersection of financial markets, client engagement, and commercial growth. As part of a high-performing sales and relationship management team, you will work with some of the largest asset managers, asset owners, wealth managers, banks, and financial institutions globally, helping them access and leverage FTSE Russell's industry-leading index, data, and analytics solutions.

The role offers significant exposure to global investment markets and provides an excellent platform for individuals looking to develop their career within financial services, market data, and investment solutions. You will partner closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, Legal, and Client Experience teams, playing a key role in supporting client retention, revenue growth, and the expansion of FTSE Russell's market-leading franchise. This position is well suited to commercially minded professionals who enjoy supporting client relationships, working with financial markets and index data, coordinating across sales and internal teams, and helping drive commercial opportunities from initial engagement through to execution within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

• Supports the sales team in managing and growing relationships with existing clients across buy-side, sell-side, wealth, and asset owner segments.
• Coordinates and responds to client enquiries in partnership with Sales, Product, and Client Experience teams, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of requests.
• Assists in the preparation of commercial proposals, renewal documentation, pricing analyses, presentations, and client meeting materials.
• Maintains accurate client and opportunity records within CRM systems, ensuring pipeline activity, client engagement, and sales outcomes are properly documented.
• Facilitates onboarding and implementation activities for new client mandates, coordinating across internal stakeholders to support a seamless client experience.
• Works closely with Sales, Product, Legal, Marketing, and Operations teams to support contract renewals, licensing discussions, and new business opportunities.
• Monitors upcoming renewals, identifies client engagement opportunities, and supports proactive outreach campaigns to drive retention and revenue growth.
• Develops a strong understanding of FTSE Russell's index, data, and analytics solutions to effectively support client conversations and commercial initiatives.
• Provides clients with timely communications regarding product enhancements, index launches, methodology updates, and other relevant market developments.
• Produces client usage, revenue, and market intelligence analyses to help identify sales opportunities, support account planning, and inform commercial decision-making.
• Escalates complex client, commercial, or operational issues to senior sales colleagues while ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.
• Contributes to sales effectiveness initiatives by supporting reporting, pipeline reviews, account planning activities, and strategic business projects.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Ability to support client-facing sales, relationship management, account management, customer success, or business development activities.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing client requests in a fast-paced commercial environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Ability to prepare proposals, presentations, commercial documentation, and client-facing materials to a high standard.
• Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar), Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business productivity tools.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Desirable

• Previous experience supporting sales teams within index, data, analytics, fintech, investment management, or financial information services organisations.
• Knowledge of FTSE Russell products, passive investing, ETFs, index construction methodologies, and benchmark licensing models.
• Understanding of buy-side, sell-side, wealth management, asset owner, and institutional investment client segments.
• Experience supporting contract renewals, licensing agreements, onboarding processes, or commercial negotiations.
• Experience working within a global matrix organisation and collaborating across multiple regions and functional teams.
