Your new role
Reporting into the Senior Manager, Regulatory Breach Reporting, you will be a key member of the Enterprise Compliance team within Line 2, working closely with Line 1 and Group colleagues to ensure AustralianSuper manages its breach reporting obligations effectively and efficiently.
This role is pivotal in overseeing the escalation and reporting of regulatory incidents and breaches at AustralianSuper. Your responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments, providing oversight of, and constructively challenging, business colleagues, providing coaching and insights, and ensuring that potential regulatory breaches are promptly escalated, reported, and addressed.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
Provide Line 2 oversight to ensure Line 1 teams effectively manage regulatory incidents across the Fund through feedback, coaching, training and monitoring.
Work collaboratively with internal Line 1 and 2 stakeholders to support and continually improve AustralianSuper’s approach to incident management and breach reporting.
Drive investigation outcomes for escalated incidents, including completing assessments and preparing high-quality materials for regulatory reporting.
Partner closely with Regulatory Affairs to ensure reportable matters are lodged accurately and within required timeframes.
Report to Senior Management and committees with insights, dashboards and commentary on regulatory breaches, potential systemic issues and trends.
Drive a strong service and excellence-oriented culture with accompanying KPIs, within the team and with suppliers and partners.
Build and maintain strong relationships at all levels across AustralianSuper and have a strong grasp over business objectives, challenges and risks (current and emerging) to facilitate greater collaboration between Lines 1 and 2 in relation to the management of risk
Ensure relevant legislative and organisational requirements are met; keep up to date on all key changes to relevant regulations.
Ensure appropriate and relevant governance structures, policies and processes are followed, and advocate for continuous improvement to these.
What you’ll need
Tertiary degree in Business, Finance, Law or a related field.
Proven experience in compliance, risk assurance, regulatory or advisory roles within financial services or consulting environments.
Knowledge of the superannuation industry and relevant obligations preferred.
Proven expertise in regulatory incident management, encompassing breach investigation and assessment according to ASIC Regulatory Guide 78 and APRA breach reporting standards.
Strong analytical and reporting capability, with experience using tools such as Excel, Power BI, GRC to generate insights and identify trends.
Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging senior and cross functional audiences.
Ability to work autonomously while coordinating delivery across multiple teams in fast paced operational environments.
