Title: Senior Associate, Operations

Business Unit: APAC Operations

Barings is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our APAC Operations team, based in Taipei. This role supports the operational functions for Barings Taiwan’s Discretionary Managed Account (DMA) business, working closely with internal stakeholders, outsourced service providers, and global teams.

Primary Responsibilities

• Preform daily operational activities, including review of daily NAVs, reconciliation of holdings and cash positions, instruction processing with custodian banks, and resolution of settlement-related issues.
• Oversee fund accounting services performed by outsourced service providers, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with agreed service standards.
• Ensure accurate and timely production and delivery of regular and ad-hoc operational reports and data.
• Support internal, external, and regulatory audits, including preparation of documentation and responses to audit queries.
• Contribute to system enhancements and operational process improvement initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, scalability, and control, including collaboration with global teams on automation initiatives.
• Maintain effective and proactive communication with internal teams and external counterparties, including issue identification, escalation, and resolution where required.
• Participate in the launch of new accounts, including coordination with relevant teams and maintenance of process documentation.
• Perform additional duties and participate in projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in FA operations.
• Securities Investment Trust & Consulting Professionals license is required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in both Mandarin and English.
• Solid understanding of DMA operating practices and local regulatory requirements.
• Ability and/or experience in leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance operational efficiency and quality.
• Strong attention to detail, high sense of ownership, and good risk awareness.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional and solutions-oriented approach.
• Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and collaborative working style
