As a Senior Associate in our Trusts and Estates Tax Services team, you will play a key role in managing tax compliance, planning, and advisory projects for high-net-worth individuals, families, and fiduciary entities. Working under the guidance of Managers and Directors, you will review complex returns, lead junior staff, and provide strategic insights that help clients achieve their estate and wealth transfer objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Preparation and Review: Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile tax expense and liability accounts accurately.
  • Tax Research and Planning: Assist in conducting in-depth tax research and planning to identify optimal strategies for clients.
  • Tax Documentation: Quantify and document federal and state income tax liabilities for tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments, including book/tax adjustments, federal/state modifications, and state apportionment.
  • FAS 109 Calculations: Perform calculations for FAS 109, including quantifying the effective tax rate and current and deferred income tax expenses and taxes payable.
  • Client Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and effective communication.
  • Mentorship: Train and mentor junior staff, providing guidance on tax projects and conducting performance assessments.
  • Client Communication: Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, meet deadlines, and drive change efforts.
  • Consultation and Advisory: Work closely with clients to recommend business and process improvements, acting as a trusted business advisor.
  • Professional Development: Attend regular training sessions and stay updated on tax changes and issues affecting clients.
  • Billing: Manage client billing efficiently and transparently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required ; Master’s in Taxation, JD, or LL.M. in Taxation preferred
  • C PA license required (Active or in progress)
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of public accounting experience, ideally with exposure to trusts, estates, and high-net-worth clients.
  • Technical Skills: Strong analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills, with proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance and consulting.
  • Work Ethic: Ability to work additional hours as needed to meet client demands.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
