Job Description

The Senior Associate conducts research and develops materials for business development, client deliverables, client-facing briefings, and other activities. They will further cultivate and expand their expertise in geopolitics, regional dynamics, and industry-specific sectors. We expect Senior Associates to be proactive and capable of managing processes and responsibilities with the support of senior colleagues. They should take ownership of written deliverables—including country reports, stakeholder maps, and risk analyses—and contribute to product innovation. They also assist senior colleagues with client communications, both written and verbal. Additionally, they provide administrative support to colleagues as needed.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, an exceptional writer and analyst, and has three to six years of professional experience, including experience in Mexico. Prior work in the public sector is preferred, along with a strong understanding of business fundamentals and macroeconomics, given our focus at the intersection of public policy, business, and diplomacy.

Mexico City, Mexico (hybrid)

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with a group of experts within a flat organizational structure where everyone pitches in
  • Be part of a core team focused on advising companies in highly regulated industries on high-stakes, event-driven financial and corporate positioning matters including but not limited to, public affairs, corporate strategy, crisis communications, litigation communications, transaction advisory, restructuring, and leadership transitions
  • Conduct research, develop an array of client-specific content and contribute to fast-paced projects on some of the most mission-critical issues a company can face
  • Take a leading role in creating public affairs, corporate strategy, communications plans and content that reach and gain the support of key audiences relevant to our strategy and client’s business objectives
  • Hone your skills as a problem solver, comfortable operating independently and seeking counsel at the appropriate time
  • Regularly serve in client-facing capacity
  • Contribute to firm development initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent and relevant work experience
  • 4+ years of experience in a strategic public affairs or communications role, from an agency or in-house, or the capabilities of someone of that level of experience
  • Comfortable dealing with the most senior people within an organization
  • Exceptional attention to detail and writing skills
  • Highly collaborative working style
  • Proven research skills, including experience with and/or ability to learn financial research tools
  • Background in institutional and strategic communications, including message development and narrative building, is considered a strong plus.
