Senior Associate, Internal Audit (Issues Validation)

SMB Shared Services, Inc., 300 Continental Drive, Newark, DE 19713

Full time 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

What you’ll do

  • Support the internal audit function by conducting audit procedures, assessing risks, and assisting in the development of internal controls.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and documentation of internal audit procedures for financial, operational, and compliance audits.
  • Identify and assess risks, control weaknesses, and process inefficiencies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Document audit workpapers and findings in a clear and concise manner, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop comprehensive audit programs and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Participate in discussions with auditees to gather information, clarify audit observations, and assist in the development of corrective action plans.
  • Monitor and track the implementation of audit recommendations, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Hybrid work permitted up to 3 days per week within a reasonable commuting distance of Newark, Delaware.

WHAT YOU HAVE: Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience as a Internal Auditor, or related role where required experience was gained. Employer will also accept a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field of study and one (1) year of experience as a as a Internal Auditor, or related role where required experience was gained. Also requires 1 year of experience in the following:

  • Audit principles, methodologies, and standards such as IIA Global Internal Audit Standards;
  • Relevant regulations, frameworks, and standards such as those relevant to safety and soundness of financial institutions such as Section 39 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act and 12 CFR Part 30 and compliance with consumer protection laws such as Truth in Savings Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Community Reinvestment Act;
  • Audit software such as Workiva and Microsoft Office suite; and
  • Model Risk Management process, including best practices around maintaining and developing Models and Tools and reviewing Model Documentation for adequacy and sufficiency.
