Seeking a detail-oriented, proactive problem solver to keep Namati running smoothly.
About the Position:
In a world where billions of people live outside the protection of the law, Namati is dedicated to putting the law in people's hands. We're building a global movement of grassroots advocates who work alongside communities to help them protect their land, safeguard their environment, and shape the decisions that govern their lives.
The Global Operations team is the connective tissue that makes Namati's mission possible. We ensure that staff across multiple countries have the tools, systems, and support they need to do their best work, and that our Washington, DC office runs like clockwork. From managing software and hardware to coordinating events and documenting the processes that hold us together, operations is where precision and creativity meet.
The Senior Associate, Global Operations will serve as a key contributor on the Global Operations team, supporting Namati's technology infrastructure, contributing to knowledge management across the organization, and owning day-to-day DC office management and reception functions. Reporting to the Senior Operations Officer based in New York, this role is ideal for an operations generalist who derives real satisfaction supporting people — someone who sees a broken process not as a nuisance, but as an opportunity to improve the experience of the whole team.
We seek a teammate who is as comfortable troubleshooting a Zoom call as they are orienting a new staff member to the office. You bring a service orientation, strong organizational instincts, and a comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities as you support our teams. Our ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates clearly, and takes pride in follow-through, recognizing that behind-the-scenes work is critical to achieving any important mission.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Law is supposed to be one of our most powerful tools for advancing justice. But for billions of people around the world, the law is broken. It’s an abstraction—or worse, a threat. Since 2012, Namati has advanced social and environmental justice by building a movement of people who know, use, and shape the law. We’ve grown tremendously, from a small founding group of big-hearted change-makers to a global staff of 180+ people across 12 time zones in Asia, Africa, and the Americas. The Grassroots Justice Network, which Namati convenes, has grown from 30 people in one room to the world’s largest community of justice advocates. Our 16,000 members, spanning 188 countries, are building power together to make grassroots justice a reality.
Namati has supported local communities to take on thousands of justice issues, directly improving the lives of over 4.1 million people since our founding. Together with communities, partners, and Network members, we’ve envisioned, and won, transformative changes across our country programs and beyond, expanding rights for over 100 million people.
Namati has been featured in the New York Times, The Washington Post, the American Journal of Law and Equity, TED, The Economist, Amanpour & Co., and The Telegraph, among other outlets.
