Job Description

Senior Associate, Financial Control

  • Exciting opportunity to join the Financial Control team, within the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport  
  • This is a Clerk Grade 9/10 with a salary range of $133,348 - $146,945 per annum plus superannuation
  • Full-time ongoing role based in Sydney CBD, hybrid working arrangements may be available within business operational needs

About The Role

The role is responsible for the management of critical finance functions including, but not limited to, general ledger maintenance and reconciliations, insurance, cash management, finance projects, taxation, and other finance transactional activities via external service providers for the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport (DCITHS) and agencies in the portfolio where DCITHS provides shared corporate services.

About You

We are looking for someone with the following key knowledge and experience:

  • Lead month-end financial reporting activities, including accounting, cash flow forecasting, taxation compliance, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Deliver and collaborate on finance projects, system enhancements, and strategic initiatives that support organisational priorities and business requirements
  • Manage financial operations delivered through external service providers, ensuring compliance with DCITHS financial delegations, policies, and controls
  • Provide financial support to business stakeholders by overseeing transaction processing and ensuring compliance with audit requirements, legislative obligations, and governance frameworks
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance financial controls, operational efficiency, and service delivery outcomes
