Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing Process Engineering

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace components and assemblies.
  • Prepare and maintain process plans, work instructions, manufacturing routings, operation sheets, and standard work documents.
  • Define manufacturing sequence, process parameters, tooling, fixtures, machines, and inspection requirements.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and customer requirements for manufacturability.
  • Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) / Design for Assembly (DFA) activities.
  • Identify and eliminate process constraints, bottlenecks, and manufacturing risks.

2. New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Support new product introduction from prototype through production.
  • Develop manufacturing processes and ensure production readiness before SOP.
  • Participate in design and manufacturing reviews to identify potential production issues.
  • Coordinate with Design, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Tooling teams during NPI.
  • Support first-piece / first-off builds and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Drive process validation and production readiness activities.

3. Tooling & Fixture Development

  • Identify requirements for jigs, fixtures, gauges, cutting tools, and special tooling.
  • Work with Tool Design / Tool Room / external suppliers for tooling development.
  • Conduct tooling trials and validate tooling performance.
  • Improve tooling to reduce setup time, variation, defects, and operator dependency.

4. Productivity & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, OEE, productivity, capacity, and manufacturing cost.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives such as:Kaizen5SLine balancingSMEDVisual managementWaste eliminationStandard work
  • Conduct time studies and establish standard cycle times.
  • Analyze production losses and implement corrective actions.

5. Quality & Process Improvement

  • Support PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow Diagram, and risk assessment activities.
  • Investigate manufacturing defects using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Use 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and root-cause analysis for problem resolution.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce scrap, rework, and process variation.
  • Work closely with Quality Engineering to improve process capability and product quality.

6. Shop-Floor Support

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to Production for manufacturing issues.
  • Troubleshoot machine, tooling, process, and assembly-related problems.
  • Support operators and supervisors with process clarification and technical guidance.
  • Ensure adherence to approved manufacturing processes and work instructions.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and support recovery of production constraints.
  • Ablity to work in any shift as per Business Requirement

Qualifications:

  • BE/ Master’s Degree with 4 to 6 years of expereinece in Manufacturing Engineering .
