Job Description

About the Team

Our Sydney Building Services team is a well-established, high-performing group within WSP’s national Property and Buildings business. You’ll be joining a genuinely supportive and collaborative team made up of highly experienced, long-standing professionals alongside emerging talent. It is an environment where knowledge is shared, people back each other, and success is celebrated together.

With a strong pipeline of Tier 1 projects secured across Transport, Defence, Data Centres, Commercial and Health, the work is varied, technically challenging and genuinely market-leading. Backed by national capability and a global business, the team combines strong local relationships with the scale to deliver some of the most complex projects in the country.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior to Associate level Electrical Engineer (circa 8+ years) to step into a rare and exciting opportunity.

Due to a number of major project wins landing at once, this role offers the chance to take a leading position on a career-defining project, while continuing to contribute across a diverse portfolio of high-profile work.

You will lead design packages within large, complex programmes, work closely with clients, and play a key role in shaping both project outcomes and the ongoing growth of the team. You will be trusted with autonomy, while supported by a team of experts around you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design across single and multi-disciplinary projects
  • Deliver and manage design packages on major, complex programmes
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to ongoing business development
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure high-quality, coordinated outcomes
  • Drive best practice design, balancing innovation, cost efficiency and programme delivery
  • Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the Building Services team

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years’ experience within Australian building services consulting
  • Proven experience delivering projects across multiple sectors and scales
  • Strong client-facing, communication and project delivery skills
  • Solid understanding of relevant industry standards and codes (AS/NZS 3000, NCC etc.)
  • Ability to lead packages, influence outcomes and work both autonomously and collaboratively

Why Join Us

We have created an environment that reflects what people genuinely want from their careers:

  • Flexible hybrid working with 2 days from home and 3 days in our beautifully designed CBD office
  • A premium workplace experience featuring biophilic design, quiet rooms, lounge spaces, generous kitchen facilities and café-style amenities
  • A vibrant office hub spanning three levels and home to over 1,000 people, offering a variety of spaces to focus, collaborate and connect
  • A supportive but high-performing team that provides guidance while giving you the autonomy to lead your work
  • The opportunity to work on some of the best and most complex projects in Australia across multiple sectors
  • A team culture that is thoughtful, inclusive and genuinely supportive

What We Offer

  • Highly competitive salary package
  • 16 weeks parental leave with no waiting period, plus superannuation paid for up to 12 months
  • Additional 4 weeks purchased leave
  • Flexible working hours to support work-life balance
  • Relocation support for interstate applicants
  • Open to both full-time and part-time working arrangements
  • Global mobility opportunities
  • Salary continuance insurance, employee discounts and wellbeing initiatives

Why This Role Stands Out

This is not a standard hire. The volume and scale of current project wins has created a unique opening to step into a lead role on a major project, with the backing of a successful and established team.

If you are looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact, work on standout projects, and be trusted to lead while still supported by experienced peers, this is it.

Imagine a better future for you and a better future for us all. With us, you can. Apply today.
