Job Description

Create your best future and join Westpac as a Senior Associate, eCommerce Product Manager

What’s the role?

You’ll join Westpac Institutional Bank’s Merchant Payments team as a Senior Associate, Product Manager, helping shape the future of eCommerce payments for businesses across Australia. Based in Sydney with hybrid working arrangements, you’ll be responsible for driving key components of our eCommerce product portfolio, including online acceptance, payment gateways, orchestration capabilities and digital payment experiences that help merchants grow and succeed.

This is a highly collaborative role where you’ll work across technology, data, risk, legal, compliance, operations, sales and external partners to bring new products and enhancements to market. You'll use customer insights, market trends and performance data to identify opportunities, solve real customer problems and continually improve the merchant experience.

As the payments landscape evolves, you'll also help explore and shape emerging opportunities in eCommerce, including AI-enabled customer journeys and next-generation payment experiences. From defining product roadmaps and prioritising investments through to delivery, launch and ongoing optimisation, you’ll play a key role in creating innovative, reliable and customer-focused payment solutions that deliver value for both merchants and Westpac.

You'll be empowered to challenge the status quo, think strategically about the future of commerce and contribute to products that support businesses of all sizes. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of payments, technology and innovation while helping deliver seamless digital experiences that meet the changing needs of customers and the market.

What do I need?

We're looking for a customer-focused product professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working collaboratively and bringing innovative ideas to life.

  • Ability to convert complex technical concepts into clear business values, customer experience and product strategies.
  • Strong product management experience within eCommerce or payment gateways.
  • Exposure to Agentic AI or development of AI assisted workflows.
  • Understanding of emerging eCommerce trends, including AI-enabled customer journeys, digital wallets and payment technologies.
  • Commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to use data and insights to identify opportunities and improve customer experiences.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across business, technology, risk and operational teams.

Additionally, you may have:

  • Knowledge of agentic AI commerce, including how AI agents may influence product discovery, comparison, decisioning, checkout, fulfilment and post-purchase servicing.
  • Ability to define agent-ready commerce requirements, including structured product and merchant data, API-based journeys, conversational interfaces, human-in-the-loop controls, consent, identity, security and payment risk considerations.
