  • Supporting the development of a stress & scenario analysis framework for WIB

What’s the role?

We’re looking for a Senior Associate to join the Credit and Capital team within Westpac’s Corporate and Institutional Bank (CIB). You will play a key role in supporting both (i) compliance with APS120 (Securitisation) and (ii) the establishment and embedding of a scenario analysis framework for Westpac’s Institutional Bank (WIB).

You will contribute to supporting compliance of APS120 (Securitisation), including performing regulatory capital analysis, securitisation specific stress testing, reviewing controls and issues, and contributing to regulatory interpretations to support deal execution.

You will also contribute to the establishment of a framework to deliver bottom-up scenario analysis on material WIB portfolios. The framework will support risk appetite settings, understanding tail risk in portfolios and will inform decision making. To support the framework, you will develop an understanding of APS113 capital regulations and impacts to return on equity metrics. You will have the opportunity to engage across different business units and gain exposure to industry teams and portfolio strategies.

This is a full-time role based in Sydney / Melbourne which offers a collaborative team environment. The role is an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience across institutional banking.

What do I need?

  • Strong analytical capability with high attention to detail, ideally with experience in regulatory capital and return analysis
  • Relevant qualifications in finance, business or a related discipline
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business actionable insights, supported by advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to coordinate stakeholders, manage deliverables and support project execution
  • Understanding of prudential regulations (APS120 Securitisation / APS113 Internal Ratings Based approach to Credit Risk) and/or exposure to stress testing and scenario analysis (desirable)
