Job Description

About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our Natural Resources practice within the Financial Services & Capital Markets team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our market‑leading work across mining, corporate securities, equity capital markets and mergers and acquisitions, delivering exceptional service to our clients across developed and emerging markets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on a broad range of corporate matters, including public and private M&A, joint ventures and general corporate transactions.
  • Acting for mining and natural resources companies, including listed and private businesses, on a range of matters.
  • Managing equity capital markets matters, including IPOs, secondary fundraisings and other capital markets activity, and advising sponsors, nominated advisers and brokers
  • Supporting public companies on corporate advisory, compliance and reporting obligations.
  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of corporate agreements and transaction documents.
  • Working closely with our Partners to support client delivery and business development initiatives.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Participating in travel to support client projects and transactions, including opportunities in Africa, Canada, the Middle East, Australia and other emerging/developed markets.
  • Supervising junior fee earners and contributing to team development.

About you:

Applications are welcomed from experienced and ambitious lawyers with strong technical skills, commercial awareness, and a collaborative approach. The role will be wide ranging but key skills will include:

  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years’ PQE.
  • Strong background in mining and public companies work — essential.
  • Oil and gas experience is preferred
  • Experience in equity capital markets, including acting on transactions for listed entities for both corporates, investors and investment banks.
  • Demonstrable experience in public and private international M&A across a range of sectors.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and transactional skills.
  • Solid understanding of corporate securities laws, corporate governance and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong communication and client‑facing ability, with a commitment to delivering high‑quality client service.
  • Ability to manage complex matters independently while working collaboratively within a team.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach with strong organisational skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to a positive team culture and building a long‑term career within the practice.
