Job Description

We are looking for an energetic and forward-thinking professional to join our newly created Open Banking Strategic Business Unit (SBU) as a Business Validation Associate. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to design and implement new processes that drive operational excellence and robust risk management for a rapidly expanding, revenue-generating business. You will collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to uphold the highest standards of compliance, transparency, and client service.

As a Senior Associate, Business Validation within Open Banking, you'll independently assess how we manage key risks across product design, platform services, client requirements, and data and vendor risk management across the third-party relationships that power our API ecosystem — all while supporting Chase's commitment to customer disclosure and contractual obligations.

The Chase Open Banking team is committed to empowering customers to share their financial data securely, safely, and transparently within the open banking ecosystem. Our mission is to deliver market-leading platforms that enable aggregators and direct connectors to securely access customer-permissioned data, while building out a two-sided business model that benefits both customers and commercial partners. We collaborate closely with partners across billing, invoicing, and are developing a self-service developer portal to streamline integration and access. We support our customers’ ability to access their financial data and have full control and visibility in sharing it securely with the apps and companies they choose.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operation of the third-party and vendor risk management framework, including tracking, triaging, and resolving data aggregator issues
  • Conduct root cause analysis on incidents and drive remediation through to closure with clear, auditable documentation
  • Monitor adherence to data and control requirements within third-party relationships and follow up on gaps to resolution
  • Analyze data aggregator performance metrics and convert findings into practical risk and control improvements
  • Escalate incidents and control concerns in line with established protocols and capture lessons learned to reduce recurrence
  • Contribute to the design of a business validation methodology for an API-driven, agentic AI environment
  • Define controls, testing approaches, and oversight mechanisms that evidence traceability, accountability, and customer protection
  • Independently validate new product deployments and key risk decisions across product design, platform services, and third-party data usage
  • Prepare concise, decision-ready reporting for governance routines and senior leaders to support transparency and timely action
  • Develop and maintain robust business controls to mitigate operational, regulatory, and reputational risks across Open Banking activities
  • Support secure, customer-permissioned data sharing processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, with a proven track record in third party management, operations, business validation, risk management or controls
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute operational strategies in a complex, matrixed environment within a technology-driven product organization.
  • Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and prioritizing abilities (including utilization of MS teams, SharePoint and equivalents to structure the team operating model)
  • High attention to detail and the ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of one or more of the following: data access and data sharing frameworks, API-driven product ecosystems, third-party/fintech partnerships, or Consumer Banking regulatory and industry standards.
  • Strong culture carrier with a team first mindset
  • Demonstrated experience in third-party risk management (TPRM), vendor oversight, or data aggregator/partner management, including independent reviews and contract management.
  • Ability to drive compliance with customer disclosures, contractual obligations, and data-driven risk analysis.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with Open Banking concepts and Agile methodologies and innovation in financial services is preferred but not required.
